The University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) is committed to environmental protection and a healthier and more active campus and lifestyle. For the tenth time in a row, the UPV/EHU has participated in the celebration of the European Mobility Week from 16-22 September 2023 under the slogan "Combine and Move!".
The European Mobility Week (EMW) is an annual event aimed at promoting more sustainable means of transport and raising environmental awareness within the university community: students, teaching and research staff, as well as administrative and service staff. It reminds us that small habit changes make a big difference in the transition to a more sustainable society.
This year, face-to-face and online activities have been implemented on the three campuses of the UPV/EHU including a bicycle mechanics workshop, an electric scooter route, an information point on public transport, bike excursions, an electric car exhibition, contests, etc. Besides, a double charging point for electric vehicles has been also inaugurated during the EMW at one of the three campuses so as to reach climate neutrality in the near future.
