In preparing the Higher Education Summit 2022 three learner- and student-driven initiatives came together to explore the potential impact on transforming education. During the Higher Education Summit, the Green Office Movement (member of Students Organising for Sustainability SOS-International), oikos International and the Young Person’s Guide to the Future joined forces to deliver a workshop, supported by the Club of Rome, to explore the potential of learner driven pedagogies. The workshop was highly appreciated by the audience of lecturers, students and faculty representatives, so the facilitators decided to build further upon it.
The workshop tested the grounds for creating a joint program that combines Education for Sustainable Development with leadership skills and the Inner Development Goals. Right now, the workshop facilitators and their peers are on a learning journey together at the Presencing Institute (MIT) to deepen their understanding of the Theory U concept by Otto Scharmer. They explore the potential of that concept as a common language to develop a pilot program for the next year and then scale it gradually to a global outreach.

How are you preparing teachers and students for a changing world? Are you future-ready and/or do you want to learn with us together?
