oikos is one of the world's leading student organizations for sustainable transformation. Since 1987.
oikos is a student network with active hubs (chapters) all around the world. Our goal can be described in one question: How do we wanna live, lead & learn together for a thriving future? The three verbs, living, learning & leading stand for what we do in the world. Leading, for equipping the next generation of leaders with the capacities and competencies they need to navigate our complex world. Learning, for our aspiration of moving higher education institutions towards a more learner-driven, regenerative approach to education, one school at a time. Living, for weaving a global support network of change agents who are co-creating a thriving future for all.
The power of oikos lies within our people. Our community truly is in action and they are running more than 200 projects every year. And those being only the active students in our chapters. Furthermore there are ten thousands of oikos alumni who are shaping the sustainable future in their communities, their businesses and in politics.
As the umbrella organization of this huge network, oikos International is offering activities to enhance and leverage that impact. We empower and train young people, we tend to our community of change agents and we craft global partnerships for sustainable transformation.
oikos is a global network on a mission to regenerate management and economics education. We combine the strengths of a grassroots movement with our global outreach allowing us to foster international collaboration. We are working on the biggest challenges of our time and we are glad that we are not alone! We are partnering with many institutions on several levels.
