Based on the analysis of six key criteria, UNFU confirms its systematic and strategic approach to the development of university infrastructure and the educational environment. Significant attention is devoted to developing green campus infrastructure, the rational use of natural resources, energy-efficient solutions, and integrating sustainable development topics into academic programs and research activities. This comprehensive approach enables the university not only to meet ranking requirements but also to foster an environmentally conscious academic community.

2602 UNFU GreenMetric2The university's strong performance in the UI GreenMetric ranking has been officially recognized. The Rector of UNFU, Volodymyr Zahorskyi, was ceremonially awarded a certificate confirming the university's 1st place among Ukrainian higher education institutions. This distinction acknowledges the coordinated efforts of the entire university community and confirms the validity of the chosen development strategy.
A significant role in preparing and coordinating UNFU's participation in the UI GreenMetric ranking was played by the ranking coordinators: Associate Professor of the Department of Information Systems and Computer Modeling, Uliana Pavliuk, and Senior Lecturer of the Department of Software Engineering, Volodymyr Yarkun, who ensured analytical support, data collection, systematization, and communication with the international ranking organizers.
The meeting with the Rector once again confirmed that UNFU views the achieved results not as a final accomplishment, but as a foundation for further growth. The university's strategic plans include modernizing academic buildings, implementing energy-saving technologies, improving thermal insulation, replacing lighting systems with LED solutions, and further developing monitoring systems across all ranking criteria. An important direction of future development is the implementation of renewable energy sources. UNFU plans to install solar panels on academic buildings and dormitories, reducing consumption of traditional energy sources and increasing the university's energy autonomy.
During the discussion of the ranking results, coordinators focused on improving the university's position among global higher education institutions. Emphasis was placed on expanding green campus infrastructure, preserving biodiversity, developing recreational areas, and enhancing the quality of the university environment.
In the near future, further improvements are planned for the separate waste collection system at the Forestry University, the reduction of paper use, and the active implementation of digital services. In the area of water resource management, the introduction of water-saving technologies and optimization of water supply systems are envisaged, particularly for the maintenance of green areas. Environmentally friendly transport infrastructure will also be developed, along with the encouragement of zero-emission vehicles.

The implementation of these initiatives will serve as an excellent example of integrating sustainable development principles into UNFU's educational, research, and administrative processes. It will also clearly demonstrate how participation in international rankings helps the university reach new heights, set progressive goals, and address today's pressing challenges.
