This publication developed by the University of Basque Country (Spain) aims at engaging the reader in one of the most important challenges of the 21st Century. At present, sustainable development is one of the main national and international concerns and calls for new ways of understanding the relationships between people and the environment. Universities are key players to promote innovative thinking and practice in the area of sustainable development.
The University of Basque Country is committed to embed sustainability in a whole-institutional approach and providing learning opportunities for their students and staff to contribute to building a better future. Contributions to this publication were sought from academics and lecturers at the University coming from different backgrounds and disciplines such as Law, Architecture, Humanities, Sociology or Chemistry. Authors of this publication reflect on the challenges that sustainability poses to their courses and how they address them through their teaching.
